Tips for calling in a story we can use on-air
- Clearly state your name and where you are calling from: "This is Brian Lehrer calling from New York City"
- Suggest a Headline
- Read clearly from a script--this will prevent long pauses or confusion, and will also help you keep the story short. You only have 30 seconds, so make it count!
- Big words don't read well on-air. Keep your language simple, they way you would give directions to a visitor.
- Have fun!
What happens to the Audio?
Once you hang up, our software sends an audio file and a text transcription to our web projects editor. We will play selected stories on-air during the Brian Lehrer Show and place all the stories for Your Uncommon Economic Indicators on the project web page.
